Join our team of nationally and internationally recognized experts in advanced heart failure. We’re the 8th largest heart transplant program in the United States. As an PA with the UCSF Advanced Heart Failure Comprehensive Care Center, you’ll have the unique opportunity to learn and manage patients with advanced heart failure, heart transplants, LVADs, and pulmonary hypertension.
On call and night shift; and two weekends (Saturday and Sunday) per month.

Please note: An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years Physician Assistant experience in one of the following cardiology, MCS, heart transplant, or advanced heart failure.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPIC superuser
- ECMO Certification
- Certification in Heart Failure Nursing (CHFN)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
License/Certification
- Active and current California Physician Assistant License (PA)
- California driver’s license (CDL) if required for position
- Current national board certification by first day of work and maintain
- Active and transferable DEA license to California and have evidence of transfer by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
- Complete an AAPA recognized graduate master’s degree program as a physician assistant.
- Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the credentialing process by first clinical day.
- Current AHA BLS
- Current AHA ACLS
UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
