Physician Assistant Acute Cardiology

The Inpatient Acute Care Cardiology PA position has clinical, procedural, administrative, and educational responsibilities in the care of patients requiring cardiac care. Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations and in varying schedules as outlined. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Please note: An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

• Minimum two (2) years inpatient cardiology/cardiovascular or related Physician Assistant experience.

• Basic cardiac point of care ultrasound skills.

• Active and current California Physician Assistant License (PA)
• California driver’s license (CDL) if required for position
• Current national board certification by first day of work and maintain
• Active and transferable DEA license to California and have evidence of transfer by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the
• responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
• Completion of a AAPA recognized graduate master’s degree program as a physician assistant.
• Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the credentialing process by first clinical day.
• Current AHA BLS
• Current AHA ACLS

UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
