GHR Healthcare is partnered with a leading hospital system in San Francisco, California that is in search of an Advanced Practice Provider to join their team for a Locums contract opportunity. Work Details:

  • Support Staff: Collaborate with a team of 5 surgeons, 2 RNs, and medical assistants/patient coordinators.
  • Patient Volume: Manage 10-12 adult patients per day.
  • Department Overview: This AHP role involves performing delegated functions aligned with the “scope of practice,” which includes managing chronic stable medical conditions, specialty protocols (e.g., chemotherapy), routine care, acute or critical care, and both medical and surgical procedures. The role is primarily outpatient but may include assistance in the OR if the candidate holds RNFA certification (not required).

  • Special Procedures:
  • Thoracentesis
  • Chest tube removal

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in caring for pre and post-operative thoracic surgery patients.
  • Understanding of surgical oncology, particularly in lung and esophageal cancers.

Practice Setting:

Requirements:

  • Board Certification:
  • For Nurse Practitioners (NP): Must possess one of the following certifications: A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC.
  • For Physician Assistants (PA): Must have completed an AAPA recognized graduate master’s degree program.
  • Licensure: Current California NP license and furnishing license required.
  • DEA Registration: Required for California, with Schedule II.
  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of PA experience in an outpatient surgical oncology setting; thoracic-specific experience is strongly preferred.

Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days

Pay: $6,000.00 – $6,300.00 per week

License/Certification:

  • Certified Nurse Practitioner (Required)
