Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Vascular Surgery Physician Assistant to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive surgical experience and demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. This role involves assisting in complex surgical procedures and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The Vascular Surgery PA will be responsible for managing patient cases from pre-operative assessments through post-operative care.

Duties

  • First assist in surgical procedures with precision and skill, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.
  • Conduct pre-operative evaluations and consultations, including reviewing medical records and assessing patient health.
  • Provide critical care management for patients in the post-operative phase, monitoring recovery and addressing complications as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in a hospital medicine setting as well as outpatient setting to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Engage in health coaching initiatives to educate patients on post-surgical care and lifestyle modifications.
  • Document all surgical procedures and patient interactions accurately in medical records.
  • Stay current with advancements in surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a PA program approved by Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation required
  • Master’s Degree required
  • Strong understanding of critical care principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Physician Assistant.
  • Preferred experience in Vascular Surgery
  • Acute care hospital experience is a must

License/Certification:

  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license issued by the State of CA required
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) through successful completion of National Board Examination required
  • Current DEA License required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 – $190,000.00 per year
