Relieve Pain Center (www.relievepaincenter.com) is looking for part-time Interventional Pain Medicine Physician Assistant to join our team in San Diego! We utilize procedural interventional to manage chronic pain. Pain medicine is a confluence of neuroscience, musculoskeletal medicine, and psychology. The ideal candidate should be empathic but firm and have a personal connection to pain management.
– Current California Physician Assistant license
– Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
– Current DEA registration number
– Current CPR/ BLS card
– 1 – 2 years experience in pain management, neurosurgery or orthopedics preferred
– Experience with Workers’ Compensation CA System
– Provides patient care in the clinical setting to include: initial workup, assessment and treatment of acute and chronic pain management conditions.
– Performs pertinent history and physical examinations
– Orders and evaluates appropriate diagnostic studies and procedures.
– Works with admin staff to obtain required precertification.
– Inform patients of pre-operative requirements.
– Procedural competency should include: pain pump analysis, reprogramming and refill, joint injections, trigger point injections, nerve blocks, dressing change, analysis and reprogramming of spinal cord stimulator [will provide applicable training if needed]
