OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate (Bilingual English/Spanish) Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various clinical settings, including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, and outpatient clinics. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks is essential. The Physician Assistant will play a vital role in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and management across diverse medical disciplines. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care while engaging in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs and history taking
• Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory data, and clinical findings
• Administer injections, medications, and IV infusions following aseptic techniques
• Manage acute pain conditions, airway management, ventilator support, and ventilator weaning protocols
• Assist with procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including cardiac and spinal tap), phlebotomy, and dermal fillers
• Coordinate discharge planning and post-acute care for hospital and nursing home patients
• Engage in telehealth consultations and provide health coaching for chronic disease management
• Document all patient interactions accurately within EMR systems adhering to HIPAA regulations
• Participate in clinical research studies related to infectious disease care, pain management, or other specialties
• Support infection control practices and adhere to NCQA standards for outpatient clinics
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Level I/II trauma centers, neonatal units (PICU), ICU settings, or hospice & palliative medicine environments

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current certification/licensure to practice in the state of employment
• Demonstrated experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks
• Proven background in hospital medicine, emergency room care, critical care (ICU/Neonatal ventilator/PICU), or outpatient clinics including urgent care or primary care settings
• Skills in procedures like suturing, catheterization (including cardiac), phlebotomy, dermal fillers, and radiation therapy are preferred
• Knowledge of medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) and documentation standards for medical records
• Experience with diagnostic evaluation tools such as radiology or medical imaging is advantageous
• Ability to manage complex patient cases involving acute pain management, airway management, dialysis or tube feeding is desirable
• Strong understanding of physiology knowledge and patient assessment techniques
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education while maintaining HIPAA compliance
• Critical thinking skills with experience in research or clinical trials are a plus

Pay: $90.00 – $140.00 per hour
