General Description
The Advanced Practice Clinician (“APC”) is a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who works closely with and is supervised by the physicians in the Care Team. APCs are expected to have the highest standards for clinical capability, professional education, quality improvement and overall patient care. The position requires a current California License, NP Furnishing Number (for NPs), Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and DEA certificate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assesses patients with numerous complaints independently, in collaboration with the supervising physician.
- Assists in acute and chronic care management of patients.
- Performs history and physical assessments.
- Performs minor procedures is desirable.
- Orders and manages laboratory and radiographic findings.
- Writes medication orders on patients and prescribes medications.
- Provides education to all patients.
- Participates in conferences and related continuin education.
- Assists in the establishment and accomplishment of departmental goals and objectives.
