El Hogar Community Services is seeking Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant to meet the needs of our community mental health programs. Each program is unique in their design and the population for which they serve. The CORE- Mariposa programs provide mental health and other related resources to adults 18 and older, Community Justice Support Program provides services to adults who are involved in the criminal justice system, and Sierra Elder Wellness Program provides services to the adult population 55+ years, who require a higher level of care. Summary: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Physician’s Assistant is responsible for providing medication supportive services under the direction of the Medical Director to a designated population of chronically mentally ill and homeless individuals. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and/or Psychiatric Physician’s Assistant performs all duties allowed by the appropriate professional accrediting body to provide direct patient care through the use of standardized procedures and protocols as approved by the Medical Director at El Hogar Mental Health and Community Service Center Inc.; follows departmental policies and procedures; exercises initiative, originality and judgment in applying established principles and practices to new and unusual problems; serves as a resource for staff and participates in educational sessions for staff. Direct supervision is provided by the Program Director while general supervision is provided in the form of chart review and consultation and collaboration with the Medical Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned;
· Serves as a resource for staff and provides consultation;
· Provides assistance with crisis intervention as needed.
· Conducts annual medication service plans;
· Provides medication support services to consumers as appropriate;
· Facilitates medication support group;
· Conducts 5150 assessments as needed;
· Attends medication support meetings and serves on committees as needed;
· Responsible for maintaining assigned productivity levels each month;
Qualifications:
· Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program
Or
· Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
License, Certification, Registration:
· NCCPA certified at the time of hire and maintained throughout career at El Hogar Community Services.
· California State Physician Assistant License, issued by Physician Assistant Board under the Medical Board of California by date of hire Or Valid California Nurse Practitioner License and California Registered Nurse License
· Psychiatric Certification (REQUIRED for Physician Assistants)
· Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification required.
· Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) or obtain an NPI, prior to official hire date and meet current Medicare and Medical requirements for billing.
· Possession of valid DEA number at the time of hire and maintain throughout the career at El Hogar Community Services
Experience:
· Experience working in the mental health field providing direct services to clients.
· Experience working in non-profit (Preferred).
· Forensic Behavioral experience (Preferred)

Pay: $99.50 – $102.49 per hour
