The Practitioner will provide employees with occupational and environmental health services, as needed and as their scope of clinical licensure allows. The Practitioner is a delegated authority, as assigned by the Consulting Medical Director (CMD), for the necessary implementation of EHS policies and those of the onsite clinic, as interpreted by the CMD. This position supports the CMD in the clinic’s day-to-day operations and provides a contact for other projects and/or organizations that interact with the clinic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Job Requirements:
- Maintains medical records and Private Health Information following all applicable HIPAA laws, regulations and guidelines.
- Supports Medical Surveillance exams such as audiograms, vision tests, pulmonary function, respirator fit testing and DOT testing requirements, as needed for purposes of interpretation of test/exam results. and feasible with available or procured equipment, in line with the scope of practice and as supported by the CMD.
- Provides first aid, medical treatment and appropriate follow-ups for work-related injuries and/or illnesses as time allows beyond medical surveillance needs.
- Provides emergency medical response, as needed.
- Performs effective case management follow-up for injuries/illness and absences.
- Performs employee health screenings and surveillance programs, including new hire, fit-for-duty, return-to-work, medical surveillance, exit exams and substance abuse screenings, lab draws and management of results.
- Provides return-to-work clearance exams, as appropriate.
- Computer data entry of all employee demographic and health information
- May review work-related injury and illness management protocols annually and when regulations change.
- As appropriate assists in developing and maintaining programs for AED, medical surveillance, hearing conservation, health and wellness, ergonomics and other implemented programs.
- Expedites injury information to management and insurance companies, as directed.
- Utilizes the OHM system for record keeping.
- Developing and conducting SAT training.
- Gain first-hand familiarity with site conditions through systematic inspections of the workplace and observations of tasks involving potential exposure to physical, chemical and biological hazards
- Work with environmental health and safety departments to provide guidance in developing, implementing and managing workplace hazard control programs
- Conduct work-site visits, consultations with other site-specific health and safety professionals and participate in key committees involving occupational health issues
Education and Experience
- Current Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner License in the state of California required.
- Certified by NCCPA.
- Current DEA license.
- Current ACLS/BLS certification.

Pay: $80.00 – $87.00 per hour
