Job Overview:
Shriners Children’s Southern California is looking for a Physician Assistant to join our orthopedics team in Pasadena. This provider will assist in the management of pediatric patients with a wide range of orthopedic conditions in an ambulatory surgical setting. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm on clinic days, 7:00am to 4:00pm on OR days. Compensation ranges between $60.59 and $90.88 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, treat, and educate patients presenting with disabilities, injuries, and diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system under the direction of the supervising physician as delineated by California state law
- Maintain adequate patient and departmental records
- Perform medical histories and physical examinations (pre- and post-operative)
- Assist in surgery
- Apply and remove casts and splints
Qualifications:
- Must possess a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from an accredited PA program
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid CA PA license. Surrounding state licenses a plus
- Must possess current NCCPA certification or be board eligible
- Experience in orthopedics preferred. Pediatric experience highly preferred
- Must possess or be eligible for DEA License
- Current BLS certification required. PALS certification preferred
- Ability to analyze laboratory and radiography results
