The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a highly collaborative clinical team focused on excellence in outpatient hernia management.

The role includes occasional perioperative support such as recovery room (PACU) assistance and non-surgical support in the operating room. While no EMR experience is required, excellent interpersonal communication and fluent Spanish are essential for high-quality patient engagement.

  • Deliver culturally competent care to a diverse, Spanish-speaking population
  • Participate in surgical clinic workflow including chart reviews, patient education, and coordination of imaging or specialist referrals
  • Assist in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and provide non-surgical support in the operating room (OR) as needed
  • Collaborate closely with the supervising surgeon and clinical staff to streamline patient flow and ensure continuity of care
  • Provide medical documentation as required for case coordination and workers’ compensation compliance (no EMR required)
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, surgical expectations, and recovery instructions in both English and Spanish

Experience

  • Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of California
  • Fluent in Spanish and English with strong verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience in general surgery, occupational medicine, or injury care preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary environments
  • Telehealth experience or comfort with virtual patient interaction is a plus
  • Willingness to commute within LA and Orange County on designated clinic days
  • Prior PACU or OR assistance experience preferred but not required

Schedule & Location

  • Wednesdays and Thursdays (with potential for Tuesdays)
  • Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Locations: Mix of telehealth, office-based, and on-site evaluations in LA/OC

Ideal Candidate Traits

  • Compassionate and personable with an empathetic approach to male patients with industrial injuries
  • Self-motivated and dependable, able to work without reliance on EMR systems
  • Thrives in a structured, surgeon-led practice environment
  • Values patient education, clear communication, and hands-on collaboration in care delivery

Pay: $65.00 – $75.00 per hour
