Physician Assistant – Orthopedics, Pain Management, Occupational Health, Workers’ Compensation, and Urgent Care
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Orthopedics and/or Pain Management, with a focus on delivering high-quality care in Occupational Health, Workers’ Compensation, and Urgent Care settings. This role involves working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Perform thorough physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and diagnose conditions related to Orthopedics, Pain Management, Occupational Health, and Urgent Care.
- Treatment Planning and Management: Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, pain management protocols, and occupational health concerns.
- Workers’ Compensation Cases: Evaluate and manage work-related injuries, coordinate care plans, and provide documentation for Workers’ Compensation claims, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Urgent Care Services: Provide immediate care for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, including minor fractures, sprains, lacerations, and infections.
- Procedures: Perform minor procedures such as joint injections, suturing, splinting, and wound care as needed.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on injury prevention, pain management strategies, and rehabilitation plans to promote recovery and long-term health.
- Collaboration: Work closely with supervising physicians, physical therapists, and case managers to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) for all patient interactions, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in Orthopedics, Pain Management, and Occupational Health.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Licensure/Certification: Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in California. National certification from the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants). BLS/ACLS certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant, with specific expertise in Orthopedics and/or Pain Management. Experience in Occupational Health, Workers’ Compensation, or Urgent Care is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.
- Knowledge of pain management techniques, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches.
- Strong understanding of Workers’ Compensation processes and documentation requirements.
- Ability to perform minor procedures such as joint injections and suturing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient education and team collaboration.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Work Environment

- Setting: Outpatient clinic with a mix of scheduled appointments and walk-in Urgent Care patients.
