Exer Core Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities
- Practices standard precautions and disease-specific precautions by proper utilization of handwashing and personal protective equipment.
- Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
- Maintains awareness of dignity, comfort and safety needs of patient.
- Always provides excellent patient care.
- Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies provider of patient’s condition as well as any changes to the patient’s condition, reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
- Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications
- State medical license
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care, with at least one year of SOLO experience.
- Board eligibility or certification
- Experience in procedures including suturing and splinting, reading diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKGs
- BLS/ACLS and PALS certification.
- Outstanding bedside manner with children and adults
- Energetic attitude which inspires other team members
- Desire to contribute to building and maintaining a great organization
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Competence with computer use and EMR.
- Proficient at intravenous access for blood draw and drug administration.
Working Conditions Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
