As a division of RCH–Orange (CHOC), CHOC Specialists continues to set new standards in pediatric subspecialty medicine. Within CHOC Specialists, the Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty (PSF)—a private pediatric subspecialty group—serves as the employer for this position. PSF includes more than 500 physicians and advanced practice providers across 26 pediatric subspecialties. Providers practice at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), a nationally recognized leader in pediatric care with two state-of-the-art hospitals in Orange and Mission Viejo, and a premier teaching site affiliated with the University of California, Irvine (UCI). About the Role: Intestinal Rehabilitation & Home TPN Program (GI) CHOC Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join its Pediatric Gastroenterology Intestinal Rehabilitation & Home TPN Program, a highly specialized service caring for medically complex children dependent on parenteral nutrition and central venous access. Since 2014, the program has grown significantly, serving a high-risk population requiring coordinated inpatient and outpatient care. This dedicated APP role is essential to improving care continuity, reducing preventable hospitalizations, enhancing patient safety, and supporting long-term outcomes for children on home TPN. Role Highlights

  • Manage and troubleshoot central lines, including ordering tPA and coordinating repairs or replacements
  • Monitor and adjust inpatient and outpatient TPN regimens in collaboration with GI physicians, dietitians, and pharmacists
  • Triage urgent outpatient labs and patient-reported concerns
  • Coordinate care during admissions for TPN complications or infections along with different teams and specialties
  • Support CLABSI prevention, including parent education on central line care
  • Serve as a key liaison between inpatient and outpatient TPN teams
  • Participate in quality improvement, data tracking, and research initiatives
