Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Must have DOT Certification. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care across a variety of clinical settings, including acute, outpatient, and long-term care environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with diverse medical procedures, EMR/EHR systems, and specialized treatments such as Botulinum toxin therapy, dermal fillers, and esthetic laser treatments. Strong knowledge of medical documentation, diagnostic evaluation, and patient assessment is essential. This position offers an opportunity to work with a broad patient demographic, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with complex medical needs such as memory care and hospice.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across specialties such as internal medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and infectious disease care.
- Administer injections, IV infusions, catheterizations, and perform suturing using sterile techniques.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, and Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-9/10, CPT).
- Perform diagnostic evaluations including laboratory testing, sonography, medical imaging, and specimen collection/processing.
- Provide specialized procedures such as spinal taps, cardiac catheterization assistance, airway management, gastroscopy-related care, and neuro-critical interventions in Level I/II trauma centers or teaching hospitals.
- Engage in telehealth consultations and coordinate outpatient or inpatient care plans including discharge planning and utilization review.
- Deliver patient education on health coaching topics like nutrition, medication administration, family planning, and post-acute care strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with HIPAA standards and infection control protocols.
- Work with diverse populations including those requiring hospice & palliative medicine, Alzheimer’s/dementia care, memory care units, developmental disabilities support, neonatal ventilator management, or working with people with disabilities.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current certification.
- Proven experience in critical care settings such as ICU or trauma centers; hospital medicine; emergency room; urgent care; or outpatient clinics.
- Extensive clinical skills including suturing; IV insertion; catheter care; phlebotomy; specimen collection; medication administration; airway management; ventilator support; sterile processing; DME handling; gastroscopy-related procedures; neuro-critical interventions; and use of EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Knowledge of advanced medical terminology (ICD coding/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures like dermal fillers or Botox treatments.
- Experience working with specialized populations such as pediatric (pediatrics/toddler/neonatal), geriatric (memory/dementia/Alzheimer’s), or post-acute patients.
- Ability to work effectively within hospital settings including Level I/II trauma centers or teaching hospitals.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
