Full Job Description

Pathways to Wellness is a dedicated psychiatric outpatient clinic of 25+ years serving the Alameda community with Medi-Cal. Our mission is to provide comprehensive mental health care to individuals with moderate to severe mental health conditions. We are committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment where our team can thrive and make a significant impact on our patients’ lives.

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions and a strong commitment to improving the well-being of our patients. Physician Assistant will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed physician, contributing to the overall well-being of our patients.

(1) Full-time; 4 days per week/ 32 hours per week

(1) Part-time; 3 days per week/ 24 hours per week

Duties● Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients presenting with a range of mental health conditions.

● Diagnose and develop treatment plans for individuals with moderate to severe mental health disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and PTSD.

● Provide ongoing treatment and management of mental health conditions, including medication management and psychotherapy.

● Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive care.

● Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.

● Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.

● Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices in mental health care.

Requirements● Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

● Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of California.

● Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

● DEA number and NPI required

● Experience in psychiatric or mental health settings preferred.

● Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in managing a variety of mental health conditions.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

● Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $85.86 – $90.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
