Full Job Description

  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical exams focused on gastrointestinal health.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of GI disorders such as GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, and pancreatitis.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including lab work, imaging, and endoscopic findings.
  • Assist in GI procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, and capsule endoscopy, as applicable.
  • Educate patients on conditions, treatments, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
  • Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Participate in inpatient consults and follow-up care, including hospital rounds.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Participate in quality improvement, research, or education initiatives as needed.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited PA program.
  • Current state PA license and NCCPA certification.
  • DEA license and prescriptive authority (or eligibility).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in internal medicine, gastroenterology, or related field preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities.
