Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our healthcare team to provide psychiatric services. The successful candidate will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical environment with a behavioral health focus. You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with behavioral health conditions, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Additionally, you will educate patients and their families about health-related issues and coordinate care across healthcare settings. You will work closely with our other team members who support our patients in a holistic manner.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health patient evaluations, including medical history reviews and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests and imaging studies.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic behavioral health conditions in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Prescribe medications and other treatments as appropriate.
  • Provide patient education regarding health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice development to enhance patient care delivery.
  • Maintain timely, accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of California.
  • National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • 2+ years behavioral health experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
  • Willingness to adhere to professional and ethical standards of practice.

Time Commitment Minimum:10-15 hours per week, during normal business hours (Monday – Friday between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. PST).

Compensation: $60 – $80 / hour
