OverviewJoin our Dermatology clinic team as a CERTIFIED Physician Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care across diverse medical settings. In this role, you will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive clinical services. Your expertise will support acute and chronic care management, emergency interventions, and specialized treatments, ensuring patients receive timely, effective, and compassionate care. Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including history-taking, physical examinations, vital signs measurement, and diagnostic evaluation to determine health status and treatment needs.
  • Assist in or perform medical procedures such as suturing, injections (including botulinum toxin treatments), airway management, and other clinical interventions following aseptic techniques.
  • Manage acute pain and chronic conditions by developing treatment plans that incorporate medication administration, wound care, and pain management strategies.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and data management.
  • Participate in hospital-based activities including triage in emergency rooms or urgent care settings, ICU or Level I/II trauma center experiences, and inpatient rounds.
  • Support hospital discharge planning by coordinating post-acute care services such as home health or nursing home referrals.
  • Engage in clinical research or clinical trials to contribute to medical advancements and evidence-based practices.
  • Administer injections and IV infusions while maintaining patient safety and HIPAA compliance.
  • Assist with ventilator management for neonatal or adult patients in ICU settings; operate specialized equipment like cardiac catheters or dialysis machines as needed.
  • Provide health coaching on lifestyle modifications, nutrition, addiction counseling, family planning, or geriatrics to promote overall wellness.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging or laboratory tests; interpret results to inform treatment decisions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on infection control protocols and radiation therapy procedures when applicable.
  • Support telehealth initiatives by providing remote patient consultations using secure digital platforms.

Qualifications

  • Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Proven experience in emergency medicine, critical care (ICU), hospital medicine, or outpatient settings such as primary care or urgent care clinics.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; experience with ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment and diagnosis.
  • Skilled in performing procedures such as suturing, injections (including botulinum toxin treatments), phlebotomy, NG tube placement, spinal taps, and basic life support techniques.
  • Experience managing ventilators for neonatal or adult patients; familiarity with ICU protocols and trauma center procedures preferred.
  • Ability to handle complex cases involving infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, pain management strategies or occupational health issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; adept at data collection and documentation standards aligned with NCQA standards.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Prior hospital experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center is advantageous; familiarity with clinical research methodologies is a plus.
