Pain Management Physician Assistant

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Pain Management Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Pain Management Physician Assistant will work closely with our pain management specialists to provide high-quality care to patients suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions. You will play a pivotal role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients, as well as assisting in interventional procedures and coordinating multidisciplinary care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized pain management plans in collaboration with the supervising physician, incorporating pharmacological and non-pharmacological modalities.
- Perform joint and trigger point injections, nerve blocks, and other interventional procedures under the guidance of the physician.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, MRIs, and laboratory studies, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide patient education on pain management strategies, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, psychologists, and pain management specialists.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and practice protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the patient experience.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities to stay abreast of advancements in pain management techniques and best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current state licensure and certification as a Physician Assistant.
- Previous experience in pain management or orthopedics is preferred.
- Proficiency in conducting physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating differential diagnoses.
- Demonstrated competency in performing interventional pain procedures, such as injections and nerve blocks.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Willingness to participate in evening or weekend rotations as needed.
PAY RANGE: $125,000-$140,000
