Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, efficient, and patient-focused care in collaboration with board-certified/eligible physicians.
  • Manage the clinical needs of pediatric hematology/oncology patients following the lead of the Supervising Physician(s).
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans applying solid medical and surgical expertise.
  • Ensure alignment with relevant care standards, coordinating all medical and surgical components to optimize patient results including but not limited to performing peer to peer reviews, write appeal letters, coordinate with departments within the organization.
  • Perform bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures and deliver intrathecal chemotherapy.
  • Communicate with empathy and clarity to individuals in need of medical attention, explaining treatment options and alleviating any anxieties.
  • Accurately document patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  • Engage in ongoing professional education to support continuous professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’’s degree – graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current/Unrestricted Physician Assistant license.
  • DEA License (schedule 2-5)
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current BLS and ACLS life support certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a PA-C in pediatric hematology/oncology.
