About the Role
Peak Path Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psych Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a passion for addiction medicine and behavioral health. This position supports our inpatient substance use disorder treatment program located in Los Angeles, providing high-quality psychiatric assessment, medical oversight, and collaborative care within a multidisciplinary team.
You’ll spend 15–20 hours per week onsite conducting psychiatric evaluations, medical follow-ups, and collaborating with clinical/medical leadership. An additional 20 hours per week remote is allocated for documentation, availability for clinical questions, and on-call coverage (non-overnight intensity).

Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including History & Physicals and ongoing medication management
- Provide addiction-focused psychiatric care, including detox oversight and management of co-occurring disorders
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning
- Maintain clear and compliant documentation in the EMR (Sunwave experience is a plus)
- Collaborate closely with the Medical Director, therapists, nursing, and program leadership
- Support clinical safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Provide clinical consultation to nursing and support staff as needed
- Ensure all treatment aligns with DHCS and Joint Commission standards
Schedule & Compensation
- $130,000 annually
- 15–20 hours onsite per week
- 20 hours remote (documentation + on-call availability)
- Hourly structure may be available depending on candidate preference
Requirements
- Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psych Physician Assistant (PA-C) in California
- Experience or strong interest in addiction medicine and behavioral health
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Must be comfortable working in an inpatient SUD environment
- Sunwave EMR experience is a significant plus.
Preferred
- Experience working in inpatient behavioral health, detox, residential SUD, or psychiatric settings
- Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and DHCS requirements
