Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care across various medical settings, including hospital, outpatient, and urgent care environments. This role requires strong clinical expertise, proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, performing procedures, managing acute and chronic conditions, and supporting clinical research initiatives. Experience with diverse medical specialties such as critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and pain management is highly valued.
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history documentation.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory data collection, and clinical tests.
- Administer injections, medications, and treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy and dermal fillers.
- Manage airway procedures, ventilator support, IV infusions, dialysis, and other acute care interventions.
- Assist in surgical procedures including suturing, catheterization (cardiac or spinal tap), and aseptic technique adherence.
- Coordinate discharge planning, post-acute care, hospice & palliative medicine services, and home care support.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation and data management.
- Participate in clinical research trials related to infectious disease care, pain management, or other specialties.
- Provide patient education on health coaching, nutrition, family planning, addiction counseling, and disease prevention.
- Support triage processes in emergency room or urgent care settings; manage acute pain cases effectively.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols during all patient interactions.
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding.
- Experience administering injections and performing physical examinations with aseptic technique.
- Strong understanding of diagnostic evaluation methods including radiology and laboratory testing.
- Skilled in airway management techniques such as ventilator support; familiar with cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Ability to handle complex cases in diverse settings: ICU experience (including PICU), Level I & II trauma centers, hospital medicine units.
- Knowledge of infectious disease protocols; experience in infection control practices.
- Capable of managing outpatient clinics or inpatient units across various specialties: primary care, geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatology (neonatal ventilator), occupational health.
- Experience with clinical trials or research projects is a plus; familiarity with medical coding (ICD-9/10).
- Excellent patient care skills combined with strong communication abilities; compassionate approach to diverse patient populations.
