PA Listing for Pediatric GI Position

Pediatric Gastroenterology Associates of Southern California

We are seeking a compassionate, team-oriented, and highly motivated full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join our clinical team. The PA will perform the following functions:

  • The PA should be well-organized and enjoy the management of outpatients; previous gastroenterology experience is strongly preferred. The PA should have as a desire to build and improve delivery of care to patients
  • Provides direct outpatient care for patients in the Miller Children’s Hospital Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinic for routine GI issues that includes but not limited to GERD, obesity/fatty liver, nutrition, infant feeding difficulties, constipation/encopresis, inflammatory bowel diseases, and failure to thrive. PA will attend clinics at Millers Children’s Hospital (Long Beach) and the satellite office in Torrance (education and training on aforementioned diseases to be mentored).
  • Be responsible for maintaining efficient patient flow; clinical assessment; planning, initiating, and following up on medical interventions and diagnostic work-ups; and communicating with patient/family/physicians
  • Help with EMR (EPIC) Inbox coverage if 2 MD’s off
  • Attend/assist in other multi-specialty clinics such as cystic fibrosis or spina bifida clinics (education and training on aforementioned diseases to be mentored)
  • Assist in procedures such as endoscopies and gastrostomy tube placements (education and training on aforementioned procedures to be mentored)
  • Work closely with internal and external staff to ensure the patient is receiving the appropriate care
  • Daily clinic hours 8am-5pm

Qualifications

  • 6 months related clinical experience preferred
  • Must be a graduate from a physician assistant program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • California Physician Assistant (PA) license.
  • Current PA Certification from NCCPA
  • Active DEA registration
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR system- preferred

Salary:

  • Salary range: NP $130,000-145,000 depending on level of experience
  • 15 days of vacation. No weekend or holiday work
