Job description: PATIENT CARE

POSITION: PHYSICIAN STAFF – FAMILY PRACTICE-INTERNAL MEDICINE

RESPOSIBLE TO: CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Pacifi Advantage Medical Group Inc. Is seeking a talented and energetic Family Practice-Internal Medicine Physician to join our community clinic practice.

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to take over a well-established community clinic provider role. The candidate will be fully supported by experienced nurses and medical assistants to provide team-based care that is grounded by evidence-based best practices. This practice provides comprehensive care and is deeply rooted in the local community.

We are a fully integrated community based FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Clinic) non-profit with 4 clinics located in Westminister, Santa Ana, San Diego and Huntington Park.

REPORTS TO: Physicians, Medical Director and Supervisor’s.

Job Type: Physician Assistant.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating patients in accordance with recognized community standards. Physicians are members of patient-centered care teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Administrative

1. Assists in monitoring and approving the appropriateness of the pharmaceutical prescriptions of the midlevel and performs chart review on their medical records.

2. Immigration Physicals

3. Dmv- DOT’S Physicals

4. FMLA-Family leave

1. Examines, diagnoses, and treats patients in accordance with recognized community standards.

2. Orders laboratory tests, x-rays, consultation, and diagnostic tests for patients as appropriate.

3. Adequately documents care provided in the patient’s medical record immediately following each visit.

4. Provides appropriate clinical information on patient visits to permit appropriate grant or insurance billing.

5. Provides on-call telephone triage as scheduled.

6. Adheres to the Medical Facility, Vision, and Values, Standards of Conduct and HIPAA principles.

7. Consistently adheres to and/or exceeds our Medical Facility communication guidelines and expectations with patients, peers, and supervisor.

8. As an integral part of a patient-centered care team, solicits and respects patients’ values and preferences; ensures patients are recognized as members of their care team and have an active voice in decisions about their care; builds positive relationships with patients and staff, and participates in patient-centered medical home team meetings and trainings

9. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Possesses license to practice medicine in the State of California.

2. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physician Assistant.

3. Experience as a provider to outpatient’s and inpatient’s preferably community based.

4. Excellent communication and inter-personal and teamwork skills.

5. Able to relate to culturally diverse patients and our hispanic community.

6. Bilingual (English/Spanish)

*Responsibilities*

– Provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed physician

– Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans

– Perform procedures as allowed by state regulations and practice guidelines

– Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

– Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and treatment options

– Maintain accurate medical records and documentation

*Experience*

– Previous experience in EMR systems, knowledge on most health insurances as for (HM0)’S , PPO’S, Medicare, Medical, telehealth, acute care, inpatient, senior care.

Knowledge in administrating Injections, and IV’S, prescribing medications and referals.

– Familiar working in a teaching hospital setting is a plus

– Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) and experience with durable medical equipment (DME) is advantageous

– Experience working in a medical office environment is beneficial

– Knowledge of therapy techniques is desirable

Pay: $59.88 – $64.61 per hour
