ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interview patients, document basic medical history, perform and document vital signs: pulse rate, blood pressure, weight, height, allergies, head circumference
  • Organize and schedule appointments
  • Update and file medical records and insurance reports
  • Obtain and verify two forms of patient identification (full name and date of birth) prior to rendering services
  • Assist during medical examinations
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
  • Maintain documentation in patient’s electronic health record such as lab/x-ray results, recording telephone calls and prescription refill information
  • Perform electrocardiograms(EKGs), physical exams, skin tests, injections, blood draws, and any other procedures as per the request of the physician(s)
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the laboratory and patient area and ensure that the laboratory is stocked on a daily basis
  • Handle telephone calls in a highly professional manner while adhering to all requirements regarding patient privacy and confidentially
  • Seek guidance and directions as necessary from appropriate resources for the performance of duties
  • Comply with organizational policies and procedures
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Demonstrates ability and flexibility to work in other areas of the organization as needed.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures in the performance of work duties.
  • Demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and education for job functions.
  • Performs all job functions in a professional, courteous and timely manner while demonstrating and promoting positive customer service skills.
  • Maintains and promotes a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills, both oral and written.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • High School graduate or equivalent degree (GED) required
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant school with a current MA certificate required — New Grads Welcome
  • Current CPR Certificate required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $54,000.00 – $69,000.00 per year
