Full Job Description
An established gastroenterology practice in the Hanford, CA area is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their team. Prior experience in gastroenterology or primary care is preferred, but the group is also open to training a motivated candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physicians.
- Provide patient education regarding gastrointestinal conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Perform procedures within the scope of practice
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Adhere to established clinical protocols and practice guidelines to uphold quality standards of care.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities and training programs as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of California.
- Proficiency in performing outpatient procedures and clinical assessments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Strong commitment to delivering compassionate patient care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and clinic priorities.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
