Full Job Description
ACHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center and licensed primary care clinic. We provide medical and dental care, with additional specialists in Chiropractic, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychology, Podiatry and Optometry. ACHC Clinics are located across Fresno, Kings and Tulare counties.
Provide healthcare services, diagnose illnesses, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and serve as a principal healthcare provider.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition:
- Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
- Make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
- Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination.
- Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.
- Prescribe therapy or medication.
- Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management.
- Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
- Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures.
- And other activities as required.
EDUCATION
- Must graduate from an accredited educational program and be licensed in the state of California.
ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
- Ability to serve a wide range of consumers, including culturally diverse populations. Knowledge of cultural issues that may have a bearing on services provision.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy to include basic skills in e-mail communication and word processing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly with patients in person and over the telephone.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Cognitive: Aptitude to complete tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision making, problem-solving, and comprehending.
Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. Requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements (specifically keyboarding and writing), standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
