Nurse Practitioner Job Description

Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes. This role involves assessing patients, diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner will also play a crucial role in infection control and patient education.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ health status and medical histories.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses across diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Perform physical examinations and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory results.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
  • Provide care in various settings such as hospitals, clinics, PICUs, and nursing homes.
  • Administer vaccinations and perform minor procedures, including suturing as necessary.
  • Educate patients and families on health management, disease prevention, and medication adherence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to maintain a safe healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification with a valid state license to practice.
  • Experience in a clinical setting; familiarity with hospital environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
  • Proficiency in infection control practices to safeguard patient health.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Previous experience in pediatrics or geriatrics is highly desirable.

Pay: $71.00 – $85.00 per hour
