Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant: Monday-Friday, Day Shift

We are proud of what we do and now you have an opportunity to be a part of it too! We are currently seeking a Wound Care Field Clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our team in the San Diego, CA area.

The Field Clinician is a licensed provider who works autonomously within their scope of practice but in collaboration with Physicians and other clinical staff to provide and manage advanced wound care in a residential setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provision of hands-on care to patients as directed by Woundtech’s needs.
  • Debridement of wounds by sharp, enzymatic or autolytic methods completed safely during the patient visit.
  • Application of topical wound care and associated wound management products.
  • Recommendation of associated services to improve wound healing outcomes. This includes, but is not limited to, labs, radiologic tests, vascular tests, referrals, home health care, Negative Pressure Wound Therapy device, and orthotics.
  • Interpretation of diagnostic tests and recommendation of appropriate follow up to same.
  • Recommendations for prescription of required medications and/or Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to facilitate wound healing and/or wound prevention within her/his scope of practice, license and as per the collaborative agreement with the supervising physician.
  • Risk assessment for Members with Diabetes, as per the American Diabetes Association (ADA) guidelines.
  • Patient education and management.
  • Education of the Primary Care Physician (PCP), Case Manager (CM), or referring Physician on current wound management practices.
  • Provide patient updates to PCP, CM, and Physicians.
  • Communicates in a clear and understandable manner using appropriate verbal and non-verbal styles.
  • Actively participates in departmental activities to improve training methods and achieve company goals.
  • Assists with one-on-one training and coaching sessions as assigned.
  • Attends required meetings and participates as a committee member as requested.
  • Assists with special projects as needed.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience with treating wounds preferred
  • Previous home health care experience preferred
  • Graduate nursing degree from accredited school of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Possess and maintain national certification as NP; wound care certification preferred.
  • Current, active, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner in the state.
  • Ability to practice autonomously.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
  • Must have full range of mobility.
  • Must be able to reposition patients.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a professional environment.
  • Ability to set priorities while managing multiple tasks.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 – $160,000.00 per year
