Position Overview:We are seeking a motivated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our urology team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves a mix of clinic-based care, minor procedures, and inpatient consultations. While prior urology experience is preferred, we are open to training the right candidate with a strong interest in the specialty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage urological conditions in collaboration with the supervising physician.
- Assist in outpatient procedures and surgeries as needed.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care and education to patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as labs, imaging, and urodynamic studies.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications.
- Perform minor procedures in the office setting (e.g., catheter placements, cystoscopy).
- Participate in inpatient consultations and coordinate care with hospital staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients and families about urological health, treatment options, and preventive care.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current Physician Assistant license in the state of California.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current DEA license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Prior experience in urology, surgery, or internal medicine is a plus but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
