Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant where you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment of urgent care and separately, in a primary care clinic. You will have the opportunity to treat a wide range of conditions. ** Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant ***
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Evaluation and Treatment, including experience with DOT Testing and patients in the Workers Compensation program. Evaluating patients, conducting physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses and injuries, and developing treatment plans.
- Order and Interpret Tests: Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, lab work, and EKGs.
- Medication Management: Prescribing medications and managing chronic conditions.
- Referral and Coordination: Referring patients to specialists when needed and coordinating care with other healthcare providers.
- Documentation and Communication: Maintaining accurate patient records, communicating effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
Duties:
– Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
– Provide urgent care healthcare services to children and adults.
– Provide primary care services to adults.
– Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
– Conduct diagnostic evaluations and interpret test results.
– Engage in health coaching to promote wellness and disease prevention.
– Manage cases effectively, including coordination of care and referrals.
– Utilize coding knowledge for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
– Address behavioral health concerns and provide appropriate interventions.
– Looking for 2 positions to fill: a full-time position in an urgent care clinic located in California City and a full-time position located in Lancaster.
California City Urgent Care schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Cajon Medical Group primary care clinic schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
Skills:
– At least one year experience as a licensed medical provider (NP or PA) in an urgent care, family practice, internal medicine, or primary care setting.
– Experience in performing a medical evaluation to develop diagnosis, and plan of care, independently.
– Evaluate and treat walk-in urgent care patients as well as chronic conditions.
– Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and minor injuries.
– Perform minor procedures as appropriate.
– Order and interpret labs and imaging.
– Experience with electronic health records, including inputting complete medical provider chart notes.
– Ability to see patients efficiently and to handle a full patient load per day.
– Experience treating workers compensation patients (Work Comp) and DOT physicals (preferred).
– Ability to work collaboratively with medical assistants and front office staff.
– Ability to provide health coaching to patients
– Knowledge of coding practices for medical charting by a licensed medical provider.
– Confident, positive, can-do attitude and demeanor who leads other clinic staff as medical provider with a supportive, encouraging approach.
– Able to operate computers and learn new technology systems.
– Able to take direction and constructive criticism from medical director and management.

***We are seeking to fill two open positions:
1) Permanent in-person position: a person to work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturdays in California City.
2) Permanent in-person position: a person to work Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays in Lancaster, CA.
Each position will have a primary location assigned but will be expected to cross=cover for the other clinic in Lancaster and California City as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65.00 – $75.00 per hour
