Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Perform various medical procedures such as gastric lavage and discharge planning.
- Manage pain management protocols and provide addiction counseling as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic health record systems, specifically Cerner.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in documentation and communication with healthcare team members.
- Provide education to patients regarding their health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
- Assist in coding for billing purposes to ensure accurate reimbursement for services provided.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients with internal medicine needs.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and experience in a medical office setting.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and pain management techniques.
- Experience or training in addiction counseling is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and stay updated on best practices in patient care.
