Full Job Description

REN Dermatology is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in dermatology to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dermatological care, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of various skin conditions. This role requires a deep understanding of dermatological practices and the ability to work collaboratively with Board Certified Dermatologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:
    • Conduct thorough skin examinations and document detailed patient medical histories.
    • Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify dermatological conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin infections, and skin cancers.
    • Interpret laboratory results and skin biopsy findings to aid in diagnosis.
  • Treatment and Management:
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, including prescribing medications and recommending topical treatments.
    • Perform minor dermatological procedures, such as skin biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions, and laser treatments.
    • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Patient Education and Counseling:
    • Educate patients on skin health, disease prevention, and proper skincare routines.
    • Provide counseling on lifestyle modifications and preventive measures to manage and improve skin conditions.
    • Address patient concerns and questions with empathy and clarity.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Work closely with dermatologists and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and develop integrated care plans, when needed.
    • Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare services when necessary.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
    • Ensure timely documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Professional Development:
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in dermatology through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
    • Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Tennessee state license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Certification in dermatology and 2-3 years of relevant experience in dermatological care.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of dermatological conditions and treatments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, collaborative, and patient-centered approach to care.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with cosmetic dermatology procedures, including Botox, injectables, and laser treatments.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, preferably EMA/Modernizing Medicine.
