Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Dermatology Physician Assistant to join our specialized healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dermatologic care, assist in clinical procedures, and support patient education within a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role offers an opportunity to work with advanced EMR systems, participate in clinical research, and deliver high-quality patient care in accordance with HIPAA and NCQA standards. Experience with aesthetic procedures such as dermal fillers and esthetic laser treatments is a plus. The Physician Assistant will collaborate closely with dermatologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using EMR systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks
- Assist in dermatologic procedures including dermabrasion, dermal fillers, Botox (Botulinum toxin treatment), and laser treatments while maintaining aseptic technique
- Manage acute and chronic skin conditions, providing treatment plans for issues such as dermatitis, acne, psoriasis, and skin infections
- Administer injections, perform suturing, and support minor surgical procedures in outpatient settings
- Collect data for clinical research studies related to dermatology innovations and new treatment modalities
- Educate patients on skin care routines, medication administration, and post-procedure care
- Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate medical records adhering to HIPAA regulations and ICD coding standards (ICD-10/ICD-9)
- Support triage activities for urgent dermatologic concerns in telehealth or in-person consultations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards
Requirements
- Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification eligible for practicing dermatology
- Proven experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; telehealth experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with aesthetic procedures including dermal fillers and esthetic laser treatments is desirable
- Strong knowledge of dermatologic conditions, pharmacology related to skin treatments, and diagnostic evaluation techniques
- Ability to perform physical examinations, patient assessment, and diagnostic evaluations accurately
- Experience administering injections, suturing, biopsy procedures, and managing acute pain conditions
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical records management
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in outpatient or hospital settings
- Critical care experience or hospital medicine background is advantageous but not required; experience in emergency medicine or urgent care is beneficial
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards
- Strong communication skills for patient education and collaboration with healthcare providers

Pay: $75.00 – $100.00 per hour
