We are a busy Orthopaedic practice in Upland looking for a full-time surgery scheduler to coordinate surgeries and in-office procedures for our practice. We have three physicians which will book around 30-40 surgeries and 10-20 procedures each month. Surgery scheduling experience required. Familiarity with Orthopaedic procedures and codes is a plus!
Primary Job Duties:
Procedure & Surgery Scheduling: must utilize the operating room block time to schedule surgery time with patients; this is often done in person during clinic appointments but can also be done via phoneAuthorizations & Eligibility: must confirm patient eligibility and benefits with insurance plan and must submit for and obtain prior authorizations for all procedures or surgeries. _Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes required._Advise patients of benefit info, collect any deductibles, co-insurance, or deposits prior to procedure/surgery datesProvide patients with medical clearance and consent forms; follow up with patients for returned clearance and consentsCancel and/or reschedule appointments as neededCall patients one day prior to surgery for confirmation of date, time, and any pre-surgery instructionsWork with Front Office staff, Back Office medical assistants and physicians with regards to surgery appointments.
Requirements:
Must have at least one year Surgery Scheduling experience; Orthopaedic PreferredMust know diagnostics, CPT codes.Experience with prior surgery authorization and experience with HMO authorizations.Experience with an EMR/EHR system.Experience with Excel spreadsheets.Must have organizational skills and great phone etiquette

Pay: $21.83 – $23.00 per hour
