Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant with an active CA license and a minimum of 1 year of experience for a home health assignment covering the greater Oakland/East Bay area.
Details
- Home health setting serving patients across two county territories: Area #2 (Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, Albany, Emeryville, Piedmont) and Area #1 (Fremont, Castro Valley, Ashland, Cherryland, Hayward, Newark, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Union City)
- Daytime shift schedule
- Caseload is visit-based; hours are calculated using a point conversion system (e.g., routine visits = 1 point = 1.33 hours; OASIS SoC/ReCertification/RoC = 1.5 points = 2 hours)
- Weekend coverage may be required to maintain weekly visit expectations
- Travel outside the primary service area may occasionally be required to maintain a full caseload
- Willingness to see COVID-positive and COVID PUI patients is required
Requirements
- Current active California PTA license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and current auto registration required
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience as a PTA
- Home health experience preferred
- Required immunizations/screenings: TB (annual), MMR, Varicella, HepB, TDap (within 10 years), Flu (annual), drug screen, and physical exam
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include conducting routine visits, evaluations, re-evaluations, discharge assessments, and OASIS documentation across assigned home health territories
- The all-inclusive rate covers drive/travel time, visit time, documentation time, and time spent on phone calls with patients and physicians
- A smartphone and medical devices (stethoscope, pulse oximeter, gait belt, blood pressure cuff) are provided for field use
- Former employees of the facility are not eligible for travel assignments
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; RTO requested after the acceptance date will not be approved
