Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry practices. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring patient comfort, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental office.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including Endodontics and general dentistry tasks.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar systems, including medical coding when necessary.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out processes, and other receptionist duties as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and infection control protocols.
- Provide support in administrative tasks to enhance office efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry practices.
- Experience with Dentrix software or similar dental management systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical coding related to dental procedures is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is an advantage but not mandatory.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
