Overview:
Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
The APP is responsible for consultations and medical management of patients referred to Otolaryngology from Primary Care Practitioners; as well as the care of pre-op and post-op and Tracheostomy patients.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
Required:
- Enhanced knowledge of pediatric patient care principles, and ability to manage specialty patient care and emergencies by prioritizing patient care acuity and tasks, collaborating with entire care team critically, comprehensively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates professionalism; approachable, enthusiastic, and committed to educating both providers and patients/families.
- Pediatric NP with at least 2 years of inpatient experience (ICU experience desirable).
Preferred:
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Required:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- PA – Physician Assistant State License or NP – Nurse Practitioner License
- DEA – Drug Enforcement Administration
- American Health Association BLS – Basic Life Support & PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NICCU only)
Certification (NP) Required:
- Pediatric Nurse-Practitioner Acute-Care OR DUAL
- Pediatric Nurse-Practitioner Primary-care
- Family Nurse-Practitioner (Post-Master’s Pediatric Preferred)
- Neonatal Nurse-Practitioner (NICCU Only)

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
