Overview:

Schedule: 5 x 8 schedule, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Ambulatory Otolaryngology (ENT) Clinic delivers comprehensive, patient-centered care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role prioritizes direct patient care while actively contributing to divisional quality improvement initiatives and the enhancement of clinical outcomes. Additionally, the APP supports orientation efforts and provides education to patients, families, and team members to promote understanding and engagement in care. APP patient coverage may require, regularly scheduled days and occasional weekends.

The APP is responsible for consultations and medical management of patients referred to Otolaryngology from Primary Care Practitioners; as well as the care of pre-op and post-op and Tracheostomy patients.


Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

Required:
  • Enhanced knowledge of pediatric patient care principles, and ability to manage specialty patient care and emergencies by prioritizing patient care acuity and tasks, collaborating with entire care team critically, comprehensively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates professionalism; approachable, enthusiastic, and committed to educating both providers and patients/families.
  • Pediatric NP with at least 2 years of inpatient experience (ICU experience desirable).

Preferred
:
  • Bilingual/Spanish speaking.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

Required:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • PA – Physician Assistant State License or NP – Nurse Practitioner License
  • DEA – Drug Enforcement Administration
  • American Health Association BLS – Basic Life Support & PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NICCU only)

Certification (NP) Required
:

  • Pediatric Nurse-Practitioner Acute-Care OR DUAL
  • Pediatric Nurse-Practitioner Primary-care
  • Family Nurse-Practitioner (Post-Master’s Pediatric Preferred)
  • Neonatal Nurse-Practitioner (NICCU Only)

Pay Scale Information: CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements. We provide a competitive compensation package that recognizes your experience, credentials, and education alongside a robust benefits program to meet your needs.
