Title: Physician Assistant

Position Overview: A Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in orthopedics provides comprehensive care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions, including injuries, diseases, and disorders of the bones, joints, muscles, and ligaments. Working under the supervision of orthopedic surgeons and physicians, the PA assists in diagnosing and treating orthopedic conditions, performing clinical procedures, and educating patients on preventive care and rehabilitation. This role requires a strong understanding of orthopedic medicine, excellent clinical skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations focusing on the musculoskeletal system.

· Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans, to identify orthopedic conditions.

· Diagnose a variety of orthopedic conditions, including fractures, sprains, arthritis, and sports injuries.

· Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising orthopedic physicians.

· Prescribe and administer medications, physical therapy, and other treatments as necessary.

· Provide non-surgical treatments such as casting, splinting, and joint injections.

· Assist in the surgical management of orthopedic conditions, including pre-operative and post-operative care.

· Assist orthopedic surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and surgical outcomes.

· Prepare patients for surgery by explaining procedures, obtaining informed consent, and conducting pre-operative assessments.

· Perform wound closure, dressing changes, and post-operative evaluations.

· Educate patients and their families on orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and rehabilitation processes.

· Develop and implement rehabilitation and exercise programs to promote recovery and prevent future injuries.

· Provide guidance on lifestyle modifications and preventive measures to maintain musculoskeletal health.

· Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date.

· Adhere to all healthcare regulations and standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and data security.

· Use electronic health records (EHR) systems to document patient interactions and care plans.

· Stay updated on the latest research, technology, and advancements in orthopedic medicine.

· Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

· Collaborate with orthopedic physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare team members to provide coordinated and effective patient care.

Qualifications:

· Strong clinical and diagnostic skills specific to orthopedic conditions.

· Proficiency in performing orthopedic procedures, including casting, splinting, and joint injections.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

· Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

· Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.

· Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on patient satisfaction.

· Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.

· Dexterity to perform medical procedures.

· Strength to assist patients with mobility and to handle orthopedic equipment.

· Clinical experience in orthopedics through internships or previous work in orthopedic settings is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
