● Hours Per Week: 24-30 Hours per week● Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
Position Summary
We are seeking a nephrology nurse practitioner (NP) or Physician’s assistant (PA), to join a busy and growing faculty practice, which oversees the care of complicated nephrology patients. The individual we are looking for should be able to thrive in an atmosphere that is challenging, yet deeply satisfying.
We are an established Nephrology practice that has been doubling it’s patient base within the past 2 years. We are seeking an NP or PA that is, not only, looking to contribute to patient care, but also looking to contribute to growing the practice and work as a team.
Responsibilities
● Works cooperatively with MD’s, RN’s and other personnel.● Orders, conducts and interprets diagnostic tests.● Formulates a diagnostic impression; and develops and implements a treatment plan.● Monitors the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, prescription of pharmacological agents and treatments and non-pharmacological therapies.
● Provides counseling and education to meet patient needs.● Assists in scheduling biopsies and dialysis catheter placement.● Covers all areas of nephrology including inpatient and outpatient dialysis, inpatient nephrology service, nephrology clinics● Responsible for developing and maintaining clinic workflows● Performs additional related duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
● Master’s degree plus at least one to two years of related experience, or equivalent in education and experience
● Current California State RN, NP or PA license, as well as board certification
● Current DEA, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS) certifications
● Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills● Demonstrated leadership ability● Ability to manage time and stress effectively, and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting● Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs
Preferred Qualifications
● Minimum two years of clinical experience in Nephrology● Primary care, acute care, and/or ICU experience● Strong computer skills in Electronic Medical Records
Other Requirements
● Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $100,000.00 – $157,160.00 per year
