Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Part Time Physician Assistant (PA-C) on a contract basis, where your expertise will directly impact patient care across diverse clinical settings. Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs collection, to determine clinical needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Administer injections, including botulinum toxin treatments and other medications, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
  • Manage acute pain cases and participate in urgent care and emergency room procedures, ensuring prompt and effective patient stabilization.
  • Perform suturing, wound care, and other minor procedures utilizing proper sterile techniques.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, and coding (ICD-10, CPT).
  • Assist in diagnostic evaluations by ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Participate in clinical research projects or clinical trials to advance medical knowledge and improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide triage services via telehealth or in-person consultations for diverse populations including primary care, geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal care, and hospice & palliative medicine.
  • Support hospital-based care including ICU, Level I & II trauma centers, PICU, neonatal ventilator management, and inpatient services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, post-acute care coordination, and infection control measures.

Requirements

  • Valid Physician Assistant Certification (PA-C) with current state licensure.
  • Proven experience in hospital medicine or emergency medicine environments; critical care experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; telehealth experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures and treatments.
  • Hands-on experience with airway management techniques including ventilator support and intubation procedures.
  • Skilled in performing physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, medication administration—including injections—and data collection.
  • Familiarity with hospital protocols for infection control, aseptic technique, radiation therapy procedures, dialysis management, phlebotomy and DME (Durable Medical Equipment).
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team; excellent patient assessment skills required.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
  • Experience working in diverse settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units or nursing homes; hospital experience highly valued.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous.
