Job OverviewAMATA LLC is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Narcotic Treatment Program (NTP) team. This Physician Extender role is critical in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals receiving medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD). The ideal candidate is committed to evidence-based practices, regulatory compliance, and improving outcomes for individuals affected by substance use disorders.
Responsibilities
At the direction and discretion of the medical director:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, evaluations, and medical decision-making to determine appropriateness of patient admission eligibility and ongoing treatment needs
- Diagnose and manage OUD
- Develop and support individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team
- Order, analyze, and document urine drug screens and toxicology results
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant medical record documentation
- Communicate and document coordination of care recommendations
- Adhere to all medication dosing and MAT protocols
- Support utilization review by documenting medical necessity in a timely manner
- Participate in peer reviews, performance improvement initiatives, and quality assurance activities
- Collaborate in weekly medical-clinical team meetings to ensure best practices and patient safety
- Assist with regulatory compliance, audits, licensing, and accreditation processes
- Participate in corrective action plans, outcome tracking, and treatment trend analysis
- Provide guidance and clinical support to staff to ensure consistency in care delivery
- Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations related to controlled substances and MAT services
- Participate in licensing, accreditation, and regulatory surveys
- Maintain active and unrestricted PA license, DEA registration, and liability insurance
- Stay current with evidence-based practices, clinical research, and prescribing guidelines for opioid and substance use disorder treatment
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Physician Assistant-Nurse Practitioner license
- DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances
- Experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, or MAT programs preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to opioid treatment programs
- Excellent documentation, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
Pay: $70.00 – $110.00 per hour
