Full Job Description

Development Is Child’s Play, a beloved pediatric therapy clinic serving Bay Area families for over 30 years, is seeking an Assistant Manager/Receptionist for our Burlingame location! This role is ideal for someone who is flexible, a strong communicator, and a self-starter who enjoys a mix of client care, administrative work, scheduling, and keeping a clinic running smoothly day-to-day. Responsibilities shift based on need, so openness to learn new things and work on new tasks is a must!

Overview

  • Full-time 40 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday (9am – 6pm, 8am to 5pm on Fridays)
  • Location is in Burlingame
  • Training and occasional coverage and events at our Cupertino location will be required
  • Some remote flexibility
  • $24 – $28 per hour, based on experience

Ideal Candidate

  • Flexible and able to learn on the fly
  • Strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
  • Highly organized with strong scheduling and coordination abilities
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable multitasking
  • Comfortable taking initiative and ownership
  • Tech-savvy (Google Workspace; EMR systems and Canva knowledge a plus)
  • Enjoys working with children and families
  • Knowledge of OT/PT and client care preferred
  • 2 – 5 years of office or administrative experience preferred
  • Applicants with a passion for this role and relevant work experience in other arenas like tech, social work, or other settings are encouraged to apply!

Daily Tasks

  • Greet and support clients and families in person, by phone, and via email, ensuring a warm and professional experience
  • Manage intake calls and guide new families through the onboarding process
  • Coordinate client scheduling, including appointments, rescheduling, and follow-ups
  • Provide ongoing client care and maintain clear, consistent communication
  • Support therapists with day-to-day administrative and coordination needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment
  • Manage office supplies and handle general administrative tasks
  • Assist with marketing efforts, including social media support
  • Coordinate and support the volunteer program as needed
  • Step in as needed to support team operations and keep the clinic running smoothly
