Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care across a diverse range of clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency departments, and specialty care areas. Your expertise will support comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a broad patient population, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with complex medical needs. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care that improves health outcomes and enhances patient experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and identify medical issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical evaluations, utilizing your expertise in areas such as critical care, gastroenterology, or behavioral health.
  • Administer medications and injections, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as suturing, venipuncture, catheterization, spinal taps, sonography, and sterile processing techniques.
  • Manage acute pain cases and participate in urgent care or emergency room settings with proficiency in airway management and ventilator support.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Engage in telehealth consultations to expand access to care across diverse populations while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.
  • Collaborate on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to optimize patient outcomes across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Assist with specialized procedures such as cardiac catheterization or ophthalmology assessments when needed.
  • Support infection control protocols and participate in clinical research initiatives to advance evidence-based practices.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in fast-paced healthcare environments such as hospitals (Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center), emergency rooms, ICU/PICU units, or surgical settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for comprehensive medical documentation.
  • Strong background in managing diverse patient populations including pediatrics (toddler care, neonatal ventilator), geriatrics (memory care, dementia), or individuals with disabilities (developmental disabilities).
  • Hands-on experience with procedures like dermal fillers, Botox (botulinum toxin), spinal taps, catheterizations, tube feeding management, and basic life support certification.
  • Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate billing and documentation purposes.
  • Critical care experience involving ICU or emergency medicine settings with skills in airway management and ventilator use.
  • Experience providing services in outpatient clinics or assisted living facilities with a focus on primary care or specialty services such as behavioral health or occupational health.
  • Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation law and hospice & palliative medicine principles is a plus.
