Full Job Description
Physician Assistant provide general and preventative care, conduct check-ups, treat illnesses, order lab tests and prescribe medication for children and adults. Physician Assistant helps with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations.
Responsibilities:
- Establish a rapport with each patient and be familiar with his/her history to facilitate efficient, productive visits
- Obtain complete medical history from patient (family) and/or previous medical record
- Teach and counsel patient (family) about the disease process and expected course of treatment.
- Prescribe appropriate medication(s) according to therapeutic goals and explain treatment to patient (family).
- Stress the importance of preventive health care including immunizations and cancer screenings as appropriate.
- Assess, diagnose, implement treatment, and monitor patients’ health status.
- Perform complete physical examinations on patients consistent with patient symptoms.
- Order routine and diagnostic lab and x-ray (imaging) studies as appropriate for patient diagnosis.
- Diagnose acute and chronic illness on the basis of clinical findings, laboratory results, x-ray reports, and/or the results of other diagnostic procedures.
- Formulate, initiate, and monitor patient management plans for patients using protocols and/or consultation with a supervising physician.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program recognized by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
- Maintain a current certification and unrestricted licensure to practice in the State of Arkansas.
- Maintain a valid DEA certificate and prescribing authority for the state of Arkansas
- Have sufficient experience to carry out the duties of this position.
- Must have the ability to relate with effectiveness to patients and other providers and staff of the community health center.
- BLS/CPR, PALS (as required) and ACLS training are required and should be kept current.
- Have a valid collaboration agreement in place with a supervising EAFHC physician
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $93,500.00 – $136,680.00 per year
