We’re seeking a dedicated and proactive Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a high-functioning outpatient pain management clinic in Tucson, AZ. This role is ideal for a provider interested in a specialty that blends diagnostics, procedure support, and longitudinal care. Who You Are
You are a detail-focused clinician with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a passion for helping patients manage chronic pain effectively. You may already have experience in pain management, orthopedics, or internal medicine—or you may be eager to grow your skill set in a well-supported specialty environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct new patient evaluations, follow-up visits, and procedure clearances
- Review and order diagnostic testing (labs, imaging, etc.) as clinically appropriate
- Develop and adjust individualized care plans, in collaboration with the medical team
- Participate in and support interventional procedures such as:
- Spinal Cord Stimulator Trials
- Epidural Steroid Injections
- Medial Branch Blocks
- Kyphoplasty
- Minuteman Implants
- Perform minor in-office procedures (as appropriate)
- Manage medication protocols, including controlled substances, in compliance with PDMP and clinical policies
- Deliver patient education regarding therapies, expectations, and lifestyle factors
- Maintain high-quality documentation within the EHR system
- Participate in a limited, once-a-year after-hours on-call rotation
- Ensure safe and compliant discharge and follow-up processes
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited U.S. NP or PA program (excludes Puerto Rico)
- Active Arizona licensure as an NP or PA (or eligibility to obtain)
- Current national certification (NP or PA-C)
- DEA registration or willingness to obtain
- BLS certification
- Prior experience in pain management, internal medicine, or orthopedics preferred
- Newer providers with strong clinical training and interest in this specialty will be considered
