Full Job Description

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pain Management Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients suffering from chronic pain conditions. This position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes in a supportive environment.

Must be able to week 1-2 days per week in the Spine Clinic and Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and Friday In Gilbert and Thursday in Tempe

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate pain levels and treatment effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized pain management plans.
  • Perform procedures such as catheterization, gastric lavage, and medical imaging as needed.
  • Provide urgent care services for patients experiencing acute pain episodes.
  • Educate patients and their families about pain management strategies and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate medical records using Epic software, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Work effectively with geriatric patients, understanding their unique needs in pain management.

Skills

  • Proficiency in catheterization techniques and familiarity with gastric lavage procedures.
  • Experience using Epic for electronic health records management.
  • Strong knowledge of medical imaging processes relevant to pain assessment.
  • Ability to perform urgent care assessments efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills, with a focus on identifying the underlying causes of pain.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to pain management and treatment protocols.
  • Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center is preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of geriatric care principles, particularly in relation to chronic pain management.
