Full Job Description

Seeking PA or NP for interventional pain practice, starting at 115k/yr, full benefits plus matching 401k, lucrative bonus structure, option for 1099.

Is this a recruiting agency?

No, this is being written by the owner of the practice. For the practice, by the practice 🙂

Do I need any experience?

No, we will have a training period of several weeks until you are comfortable with the specialty. Materials have been curated to make your introduction to interventional pain a stress-free learning experience. You will be paired with an experienced NP or PA to learn the EMR software, templates, dictation process, and clinical training. You will also have 24/7 access to Dr. Patel for guidance and questions.

Is this a pill mill?

No, we aim to avoid or minimize the use of opioid medications. Our focus is interventional procedures for spinal stenosis, arthritis, neuropathy, compression fractures, and failed back surgery. We will teach you the indications for these procedures; it will be very simple and stress-free.

Will I be doing the procedures?

A few of our NPs and PAs choose to do their own ultrasound-guided trigger point and joint injections. The more involved procedures, such as epidurals, radiofrequency ablation, kyphoplasty, and spinal cord stimulation, will be performed by our interventional physicians. The majority of our providers choose to focus on office visits.

What are the expectations for patient volume?

We expect the provider will be able to see 4 patients per hour, this includes telemedicine visits, so this benchmark is very easily achievable.

What does the schedule look like?

7am to 4 pm with a one-hour break for lunch. Friday is a half day from 7am to 12pm. The last patient is usually scheduled for 330pm to allow plenty of time to wrap up for the day. Easy and low stress is our goal. No nights/call/weekends.

I am highly motivated, how can I exceed the base salary right out of the box?

We reward productivity with bonuses issued each December. For each patient seen above 20, the provider will receive a $1000 bonus averaged over the year. ie: if you average 40 patients seen per full day, you will receive a $20k bonus in December. If you want to pick up a Saturday of telemedicine visits, you can also make extra income this way.

Is there an opportunity for research or academic pursuits?

While most of our providers just enjoy routine office visits, if research piques your interest, our owner, Amit Patel, MD, has a robust academic and research background from Johns Hopkins and the Mayo Clinic. We will run clinical trials occasionally, and providers are welcome to join in research efforts for novel procedures and therapeutics if this interests them.
