Responsibilities
The Community Internal Medicine department at Mayo Clinic Arizona is a large outpatient department primarily based at our Scottsdale campus. We practice a team-based model of care while also providing each provider with an assigned patient panel. Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and medical management of adult and geriatric patients for acute and chronic conditions
- Perform new patient assessments, pre-surgical evaluations, well visits, women’s health visits, Medicare wellness exams, and sports physicals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and specialty physicians for optimal patient care.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and laboratory studies.
- Provide patient education and counseling regarding disease management and preventive care.
- Support Mayo Clinic’s Employee Health Clinic at both Scottsdale and Phoenix campuses.
- Participate in a minimal phone call schedule (triaged by RNs), with additional reimbursement for call coverage.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.

Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current AZ RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP or ANP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the AZ State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient internal medicine or family practice full time work but ideally 2-4 years.
- Other specialties with 2+ experience would also be considered.
Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
